  • How can you tell if your baby is having ear infection or ear wax?

    ear infection
    barelyahrie asked:

My baby is going 3 months old. I found out that there’s yellowish stuff on the external part of my baby’s ear, so i thought its his ear wax and used a damp cotton butt to clear it away, but recently i found out that the yellowish dried stuff has a shape like its flow out from his ear. Is this infection or its ear infection? Anyone experience this? Please advise.

  1. Is he fussier than usual? Awake at night? Irritable? does he seem to be in pain? Does he have a fever? Those are other common signs of ear infections, but if he has having discharge from his ear, it sounds like an infection. Take him to the doctor. My daughter is now just over 2 but we went through a period where she had ear infection about every second week. We had tubes put in when she was 18 months old and she has had only 2 since.

  2. my son had a lot of ear infections when he was little, i don’t remember anything about the wax but i do remember his ear being a bit smelly.

    hope that help a bit
