6 CommentsTina asked:
My 7 month old was diagnosed with an ear infection yesterday, he is on amoxicillan. He is due for a bath, he hasnt had one in a while and im scared of getting water into his ear. How should i go about avoiding that? Is there anything i can put in his ear to avoid getting water in it?

I lay my 6 month old on those cot thingy’s in the sink so she is laying down. I’m extra careful when I wash her hair so as not to get water in her ears. She just got over an ear infection too !

Yes there are ear plugs for swimming you can also use cotton.

His head probably is not that dirty. You could probably use a wipe and wipe his head down. Then I would sponge bath the rest of him.
Or just hold off on the bath a couple more days. A couple of more days probably will not hurt him. Plus you do not want him to get a chill with being sick already. -
Put only a little warm water in the basin and keep his head well above the water. If you are still concerned, he can have sponge baths until he is better. I hope he makes a speedy recovery!

yes but make sure not to lay him down to where water can get in his little ears, maybe put a cotton ball in while bathing him.

You can try to use cotton to cover the infected ear. I would probably put a hand towel (folded several times to make it thick) over his/her infected ear when rinsing the water off the head.
