Does putting cotton in your ears during an ear infection work?
3 CommentsSam2282 asked:
I have bronchitis and an ear infection. The doctor gave me some really strong ibuprofen, so i don’t want to take them to soon in between. Does putting cotton in your ears really reduce how much the ears hurt? I need to do something so that it doesn’t hurt so frequently. I would appreciate any help on this matter.
i guess i just want to know if there is something else i can do besides the ibuprofen to help with the pain.

Cotton serves the purpose of keeping ear medicine in and keeping cold air out. I don’t think it actually helps with pain.

Well it works for me, but then my doctor gave me drops to put in, so the cotton acts as a barrier to keep the drops in.
That and it keeps the air out.
I don’t know, you can try it, might work for you too, made me feel better.Hope you feel better soon, take care
