How can I get rid of ear infection pain?

I went to the doctor today and she said I have an ear infection, she gave me ear drops to get rid of it but it doesn’t ease the pain. Anything I can do to help get rid of some of this pain?
She also gave me an antibiotic… I’m not asking for an antibiotic right now, I’m asking for some pain relief!

Your doctor said you have an infection in your ear and didn’t give you antibiotics to cure the infection? I’d see another doctor.

What works for me Is 2 tylenol and 2 ibuprofen. The tylenol helps with pain and the ibuprofen helps with the inflammation. What also helps is a warm damp cloth held on the ear can help.

Heat up some olive oil (not too hot!), lay on your side and have somebody pour it into your ear.
My grandmother used to do this when I was a kid and it always helped.
