4 Responses to “How do I know if my baby’s ear infection is back or if she just has a cold?”

  1. take her to the doctor.. Duh

  2. I would take her back to the doctor to be sure she is clear of the ear infection, but generally, if her ears are bothering her, she will pull at her ears. Take her back to the doctor to be sure as you don’t want her in pain and you both need to get some sleep at night.

  3. Call the doctor(an ear, nose and throat specialist) and have her checked over. If you leave an ear infection too long it can damage their hearing permnantly. You can tell if the ear hurt by watching them, if they rub their ear, stick their fingers in it and crying is a sign something is wrong. They can’t tell you so they cry when they don’t feel good or need something, like a little love and want to be rocked. I am a firm beleive in a comfortable rocking chair, I am not saying rock them all day long, just a few minutes and they are usually happy. But since the baby just got over an infection it is very possible it has come back. My son had constant ear infections and with a his anidnoids removed and a rigorous antibotic (two different ones) and anithistmin and ear drops, therapy for three months he was cured without a hearing loss. Keep their ears dry when bathing or in the pool, etc. with the small soft ear plugs of foam rubber that you roll between your fingers then insert in the ear. Please, don’t take any chances with your babies hearing, get to a specialist NOW to prevent hearing loss. Give the baby a kiss for me and God Bless, Elle

  4. I would take her back to the doctor. The not sleeping well was usually a sign of trouble with my daughter. I think the eye goop with the last ear infection was a coincidence.
